Default 2dr vs 4dr GSRs

ok i got a 2 dr. GSR like a year ago and a few months ago i went and saw a friend of mine (he always tries to one-up me), and he was like "oh thats cool, but a friend of mine just got a 4dr because its lighter." I realize how illogical this is and he is usually worng about this stuff but i had a hard time finding good numbers for the weights of the 4 dr. integras im pretty sure that he's full of shit but i'd like to see the numbers. This is the same guy that tried to tell me they made a 6 cyl civic and that the nissians were named for their target horsepower (200, 240, 300...)

The 1997 GSR sedan weighs 2765lbs, according to American Honda.
The 1997 GSR coupe weighs 2667lbs, again according to the factory brochure.

Your "friend" is completely full of shit. I'd say avoid him.

ok...here goes. The last time I saw a weight comparison, I believe (although I could be wrong) that the 4 door only weights about 100 lbs more than the hatchback. As for the nissan motors...haha...you're friend is slightly cornfused. The number 200SX...240SX...300ZX is relating to the engine size, as does BMW (323, 330, 525, 540, 645, 745, 760, etc) and Mercedes (C230, C320, E230, E320, E430, S430, S500, S600, etc.) with the way they badge cars. Trust me...there is no way that a stock 240SX has 240 HP..they are somewhat torquey though...they share (or at least used to) the same 2.4 L engine that the Frontier (or whatever the old Nissan truck was named) had in it's 4-cyl option. Hope this clears it up a little for you.

He's basically right... but here's how it breaks down, model by model for the Nissans. I'll use 1995 as an example model year.

200SX....powered by the SR20DE [SE-R] 2.0L displacement
240SX....powered by the KA24DE [all], 2.4L displacement
300ZX....powered by either the VG30DE or VG30DETT... in either case, 3.0L displacement.

As you can see, this isn't rocket science. h: In short, that friend of yours needs to crack open a few books and learn a few things before talking.

The sedan also has a little longer wheelbase and is a bit stiffer, both of which some would say contribute to marginally better handling. I used to have a friend in high school that was always talking a bunch of crap about stuff when he had no idea what he was talking about. I bought him 2 tires for his car, and never heard from him again. Good way to get rid of people is to have them owe you money, best $50 I ever spent

The sedan is a little stiffer, because it has a trunk instead of a big hole in the structure(hatch) and has a slightly longer wheelbase. In theory, it would handle a little better, probably not enough to notice.
