Default GSR final drive in LS tranny.

a buddy of mine has his old Final drive from his old transmission setup. its a 4.4 Si final drive. he's willing to sell it to me, but i have to get it installed elsewhere. have any of you heard of this combination? i'm tired of my LS 4.266...

the GSR final drive will leave your car cruising in higher RPMs than you did with your LS. Thus, taking away some of your gas mileage. Will allow for an improved acceleration in 5th gear though.

yeah thats the whole purpose of getting it, better acceleration in not only 5th, but all gears, but not so insanely bad as just getting an SI tranny altogether, or something else that'll leave me in the upper half of the RPM range during freeway cruising.

he's selling it to me for cheap, and its nice to have the peace of mind of knowing that my tranny is in great condition.

i'll swap it out when i get my ITR clutch/Toda flywheel combo.

Count the teeth there is rumors that not all SI's had a 4.4 FD.

Also is there a need to change the mainshaft and needle bearings when you do it like there is when you install a JDM or ATS FD in other B series transmissions?
