looking into the engine bay, there is a harness on the right side, by the clutch master cylinder. there you will see the outlet (has a plastic plate covering the pins)

whoops! i'm thinking engine diagnostic plug!

yea the computer scanner is located under the dash, near the passenger kick-panel. it'll be in a green, plastic harness.

you don't need a scanner for checking any codes on a honda or acura. Look under the dash by the glove box there should be a two wire connector tucked up there some where just put a jumper wire inbetween those two connectors and turn on the key. If there are any engine codes stored the CEL will start flashing count the long and short flashes the long ones will be the first digit and the short ones will be the last digit if there is more than one code stored it will give them sequentially and keep repeating them until you pull the jumper. If the check engine light comes on and stays on then there are no codes and the system is fine. Good Luck

Honda doesn't have the plug there it is located on the passenger side under the dash by the heater controls. It is kind of hard to locate if you don't know what you are looking for. And like I said earlier you don't need the DTC connector on a honda or acura because they have the two wire connector that you can jump and it will give you the codes that are stored. OBD II on the other hand is more specific because they have general codes that everybody uses and then manufacturer specific codes that you need a scanner for but on OBD I you really don't need a scanner for a honda or acura.

Look online or in a Haynes manual. The DTC'S should be listed in the manual if not on the net. I actualy heard odb2 computers dont use the flashing light method. Not sure though. Good luck

You have found the right harness and if I remember correctly there is a two wire and a three wire harness. Jump the two wire harness with a jumper wire and turn you ignition to on. If there are any codes stored the CEL will start blinking you have to count the flashes. Long flashes are first digit and short flashes are second digit Example two long and 1 short flash is code 21 just make sure you count correctly because if you don't you might be trying to fix something that isn't broke. And yes OBD II in most makes and models doesn't use flash codes but honda and acura still do but the problem is that is will give you a say code 31 but that could be two different OBD II codes for the same sensor just different problems. So the flash codes for an OBD II will get you in the right direction but you need a scanner to narrow it down. Hope this helps
