Yea I did everything you told me to do. Well here is the whole story, if you guys can help me I'd appreciate it so much, I'd give you some money if you can solve the problem without it costing much.

I bought my car from a man in Phoenix , Arizona for $5,500. I made the Bill of Sale out to be $2,000 and now I may be screwed because of that. After we took the car home and inspected it further, we realize that the car is only using 2 Motor Mounts, one for the transmission side and one for the Engine side. Also the motor in it is not even from the Acura Integra GS-R, its a b16a3 from who knows what. I just recently sold the car to a friend, when he went to go check emissions its throwing a p1337 or a code 54, CKF (Crankshaft Speed Fluntuation) sensor malfuntion or disconnected or something.

The mechanic I took it to said that on the b16a3 there is no place to hook up the CKF Sensor to, there is no hole or wires to put the sensor in. I am begging you guys to help me go through with this. Please help me if you guys can because I dont want him returning the car because I dont want to go through all the shit to make it pass emissions.

If any of you know anything about b16a3 and how to wire them up into the Integra please help out, I will pay you if it needs to come out to that. I don't know what ECU is used for the engine right now either, but i was thinking, possibly if the b16a3 doesn't use a CKF sensor, couldn'T I just get a b16a3 ECU and put it in and everything would work? Please help me out guys, and thanx a lot in advance.

Hmm I didn't know that about the CKF sensor not being on the B16. It's not in my Helms manual since mine is a '93 manual so I figrued maybe it's part of all the OBD-II cars. Anyway, the OBD-II cars that came with the B16 are the '99-'00 Civic Si and the '96-'97 del Sol VTEC. If they don't have the CKF sensor then you could use an ECU from either one of those cars and you should be fine.

The mechanic said if we switch the ECU we need to change the distributor also, Is this true?

I think the 1994-1995 Del Sol VTECS were OBD-1 w/ a p30 ECU(http://www.hondaswap.com/reference/index.php?mode=ecu)/, is this correct? Do you think it would fix my problem as well?

You said use an OBD-2 from a 1996-1997 Del Sol or 99-00 SI, dont you mean use an OBD-1 because in your helms, the OBD-1 DIDN'T have an CKF?

I think that this will work.

The mechanic was right about the sensor. Sucks you got so screwed...

FatBooty has really been a good source of info on this thread. I suggest you listen to his wisdom.

I'm sure that it's an ECU problem though. It's looking for a sensor that isn't there at all and trying to compensate for it. You have to get an ECU that isn't looking for it - basically the one FOR that motor.

GL man.

I emailed the people at SOHfast .com and he tech that replied to me said that I can also get an Oil Pump from a 99-00 Civic SI and it would have the bolt holes for the CKF?

If that work, then I can do it two ways right?

1) Get a another ECU for about $200-$300

2) Get a Oil Pump from a Civic SI ($108 + Shipping) then CKF sensor for $130?

What would be easier, I never done this before, Changing the ECU or the Fuel Pump and the CKF?

I think the ECU may be easier...gosh im blabbling...

It sounds like you've got an OBD I engine in an OBD II chassis and and OBD II ECU. If your emissions place will allow you to pass with an OBD I ECU (IE they don't check), changing the ECU to a P30 from a '94-'95 Del Sol or using a P28 from a '92-'95 Civic EX/Si hatchback and having it rechipped will probably be your best solution. Your looking at around $200-$250 for the ECU and and probably another $100-$150 for a conversion harness (go from OBD II plugs into an OBD I ECU). I know of a few people who have tried using an OBD II oil pump and CKF sensor on an OBD I engine but I can't honestly remember the last one who said it worked out perfectly for them.

If you do go for a re-chip, I'd ignore the fancy rechip programs as some of them are designed for built engine (don't change the VTEC point without changing cams) and avoid anything to removes or raises your revlimiter. Your stock cams stop making power at 7600ish rpm so going to 9000 won't help for squat, only float a valve into a piston.
