Default Help! SCAMED

I bought a 1996 Acura Integra GS-R from a guy in Phoenix, Arizona for $5,500. He did not mention the title was salvage, by Arizona state law he was suppose to, but my bad was we made the bill of sale out to $2,000 so I would pay less taxes. The car was salvaged because the motor was takened out and replaced with a B16A3. Is there anything I can do to return my car for the full $5,500 or is $2,000 the most I can get? How much do you think this GS-R would be worth with a B16A3 motor? He broke many laws when he sold the car because he didnt mention it was salvaged, and he wasnt allowed to sell a salvage car without it being restored in the state of arizona. He had no reciepts or proof that the motor was bought and payed for. The only thing he has against me is the bill of sale, but he doesnt have a copy of that either. But dont I need the bill of sale to get another title for my car? Is there anything i can do to get my money back? THanx

You're yellow GS-R's b18c is swapped out for another motor?

BTW, anyone have any info on the b16a3, top speed, redline? Because the GS-R shows 8100 rpm redline but im not sure the b16a3 would be going that high, not like im gonna redline it but its just peace of mind. Also is it normal to be at 4500 rpm @75mph?

I'd honestly look up the procedure for re-titling a salvaged car from the Arizona DMV website, and go from there.

Is your primary issue that the motor was swapped, that the motor may be stolen or that you want to get rid of the car and get your money back?

That will determine your course of action.

Best of luck.

The B16A is a more rev stable engine then the B18C. They can take about 8300 before I would start to worry.

I bought a GS-r for a gs-r, i dont feel like paying gs-r rate insurance for a "del sol". But i cant return the car i uess, maybe i should consult with a few lawyers first because i made the mistake of making the bill of sale out to be 2000.

Forgive me, I am still not entirely clear on what your objection to the car is.

Is it that you have a b16 under the hood that has no documentation [and may possibly be a stolen motor] ?

Or is that you discovered the car is on a salvage title after completing the sale...?
