The "ZC" is a D series relativly speaking. We have ZC series here in Europe but they are stamped ZC on the block.not D16??.And no they don't mate to Bseries blocks.

I know,Iwas responding to the beginning of the thread. But as far as the d16a6 tranny hitting 70 mph in 2nd at 7000rpms,no way, especially since it (the motor) redlines around 6000,there is no more power after that. Not without different gears.I had a German CRX 1.6-I6 dohc (our version of the si right under the VTi) and it didn't hit 70 in 2nd,and that car blows away USDM si.

Okay dude let me explain this to you... The motor JDM ZC DOHC... This motor redlines @ 7200. I dont give a **** what they red line @ in germany! and yes I will hit 70 in second because I am maiting it to a USDM d16a6 trany with longer gear ratio than your german or japaniese modles....

And hitting 70 in 2nd gear is good because? Have fun trying to get off the line and accelerate with that....

So you think that the German (where people drive faster, there for have more need for longer gear ratios) tranny is not going to be able to do what the usdm (where cars are made for more stop and go city driving, not speed) tranny can?Well since I am from America and have driven both the motors and many variations of the the two,I'll let you in on something, they don't.Manufacturers build trannys (especially in the states) too do well on figures aka 0-60 0-100 1/4 mile etc...In order for them to get good 0-60 times they gear the vehicle to run out of gear right after 60.Also since the top speed of a unmodded si is right around 126 that would mean your achieving over half your top speed with 3 gears left, sorry no.

Your not listening to me. ZC, DOHC... from japan. With a D16A6 transmintion.... Its verry fawking simple! Dub got it, why cant you? The ZC and D16A6 have the same top speed ok, one has less RPM's that would be the D16A6... So does 500 RPM's make that mutch of a diff? Yes and no, its the 500 Rpm's + the longer gear ratio from the D16A6.

I can't find anywhere were where Dub says "oh ,ok I get it".It doesn't matter if it is from Japan,USA,Europe or RomaniaWhat I'm trying to explain to you is that economy cars are not made to go 70 in 2nd gear. They are geared to get to the longer more efficient gears sooner to maximize fuel consumption. What Dub was saying before was,if you have a car that is geared to go 70 in 2nd it is going to lag off the line because of the gearing that would let it go that far in 2nd is too long.Laymens terms if they weren't already long gears=slow acceleration, shorter gears=faster acceleration.

Godamn rookie... Your slow as ****! I no longer want to debate this with you! How bout you wait a few months for me to build this thing, then I tell you what it does @ what RPM's and @ what speed and 1/4 mile.... Then we can settle this and our fingers wont get sore from typing

Rookie that's funny, coming from a guy who was asking if ZC's are vtec hahahahahahaha There is no debate,I've had both motors.By the way,for your info, they both have the same second gear 3.25 that's usdm and jdm.
