Figure you'll gain like 10-15 whp with just some hot cams, and another 10 hp or so if you get a nice port-n-polish job done on the head.

Built head = no stock internals.

Without upgrading internals, your oem rev limit is where you can safely rev to.

You have a B17, which means that the shorter stroke doesn't take as kindly to super-aggressive cams like the B18-based motors. The best cams to go with are either ITR cams or skunk2 Stage 1. In either case you won't need to rev the motor much higher than stock, say 8500 tops. Quick list of what I'd buy:

skunk2 Stage 1 cams
ITR outer valve springs
Portflow inner valve springs
Portflow titanium retainers
adjustable cam gears (pick yer brand I don't care)
assorted head rebuild parts (valve guides, washers, yadda yadda)
headwork from a place like JG, Portflow, Alaniz, DPR...
new intake manifold gasket
new exhaust manifold gasket
new head gasket
Hondata s100 + dyno tuning

Voila, figure around 185-190 whp if everything's done right.

Thank you..that sounds about right.. how much would all that cost? I am also considering an Individual throttle body setup.. I am looking for some kinda dyno results on the thing and i dont know if it is "street legal" anybody know anything? Later

Headwork usually runs $750 to $1000 or so. Valvesprings are like 120, retainers are 80, cams are 700, cam gears are 200 Hondata is 245, dyno time is like 100 an hour... It adds up.

Figure like $2300 on top of all that other stuff for the ITB's plus you need a completely new ECU to control the crap because it does away with the MAP sensor. The individual runners don't create a steady enough vacuum to get a MAP reading. In theory you could rig up an equalization chamber with a hose running from the vacuum nipple on each runner and then one hose running from the chamber to the MAP. But basically to get it to work right you need an ECU that can make fuel maps based on TPS and RPM. The cheapest ECU I know of that will do that is the AEM EMS which runs around $1300. No, it ain't cheap.

Yeah i have confirmed all this things you mentioned above... how will my relatively stock b17a react to just the ITB and Standalone ECu setup without any headwork? Also, would a setup like this be "street legal" or pass emissions? I have heard claims of 40hp on pretty much stock motors with the ITB's but i cant find any sort of dyno figures! Are there any to be found?? $2300 +1300 is $3600 which is equal to a decent turbo kit. Ive heard this thing on a h22 and it sounds like a ****in ferrari!

yeah, I'd believe ITB's + standalone + dyno time would be good for 30 horsepower.
