If you think it jumped a tooth, set the crank to TDC, loosen the timing belt tensioner, set the cam gear(s) to TDC, put the belt back on, and tighten it down. Then you can rotate the crank without worrying about piston/valve slap, although I'm not sure you would even need to worry about it witht he belt off. Assuming your t-belt didn't jump a tooth, the grinding sound might just be localized in the starter, or between the starter and the flywheel.

It could be the distributor, same symptoms as yours. Grinding noise then the car died. So check the distributor first.

And the 1995 Accord ( and all hondas) are notorious for the distributor problem. I believe Honda had issused a recall on the distributor for 95 Accord. I got some letter in mail two years ago saying they will replace the distrubtor cap and plug wire for free once the car hits 90k miles. I have a 96 accord.

hmm wow, i hope thats it but the distributer was checked kinda, cause we took the cap off and honda said i would see like red residue/dust all over if the distributer took a ****, and its clean... how can i further investigate the distributer? Anyway, we are about to crank the crankshaft via a socket wrench and i will let you know what happens,

thanks again

Default Bad news

well the engine wont crank, its seized, so we took the spark plugs out, 1 -3 came out fine, and when i looked at them, god they where terrible, completley black and has some oil residue on it, i had trouble with number four but when it came out, it was smashed up badly, we new now that something was wrong with cylinder number four, so we stuck a claw thing to see how far we could go down, one through three it hit the cylinders, and on number four, it went straight to the oil pan ...

we have a blown f22b1 motor

so what do you think the best option is....

my parents think i wont want this car in 3 years, they suggest goin with another used stock f22 rather then my idea of the H22 motor... whats the difference in price without install? cause my uncle is a mechanic and said he will install it.... my uncle suggests that since i want a faster engine, he says to just get a used f22 motor and build it up and have nos instead with the h22... i live in ca, will h22 from japan pass smog?
