I never really learned everything about turbos so I can't give you a solid answer. I've always heard people 'oo' and 'ah' about the GT35R, but I don't know what would be a good application for it. I've heard good things about the SC61 as well. Someone more in the know about turbos should answer that question. Schmoo might be able to help.

imo the GT35 is too big, would spool way too late depending on your boost, it will only make boost at high rpm and if you're looking for track time by the time that big ass turbo spools up you'll already be down the track.

You should be able to get 750's to idle just like stock.

I agree with everything Josh said. Victor X manifold, definitely; Adustable FPR (Aeromotive or equivalent), definitely; ITR cams are a nice upgrade (I am running CTR cams and they are great with boost).

I think with a 2.0L GSR, you shouldn't have much problems spooling a GT35r. It will easily be able to make that kind of power while still making it fun at low boost on the street.

thanks for all the help. looks like this is the way for me to go.

another thing, i've heard that having the dumptube routed back into the downpipe will quiet things down and give a bump in hp. just something i've heard. :dunno:

i wanna keep this thing as sleeper as possible, and with that as quiet as possible. stock exterior, anodized black intercooler, black muffler. :rick:

Actually, I've heard that dumping to open atmosphere can give a cleaner/faster spool because the opening of the wastegate is met with zero back pressure.

I had mine opening to open atmosphere for one day. It sounded like a massive exhaust leak, which it actually is. I had it routed back into the downpipe and you couldn't even hear it opening. I liked this much better.

I also had a cutout valve in my exhaust just after the downpipe before the cat. This is super sleeper. I wired it to an OEM sunroof switch to keep it even more hidden. Here're some pics:

I got it from http://www.mccordcg.com/mpp/mpp.htm. I wasn't really impressed with their product or support though. The Quicktime, while more expensive, might be a better choice.

It was SICK how fast the turbo would spool with that thing open. Sounded like a jet. :chuckles:

I always had two tunes because my Greddy Profec-B SpecII had a high and low boost setting. My low was set for daily driving at about 16psi with the cutout closed. High was set for racing at about 23psi with the cutout open. That removed any worry about the negative effects of it being open, but I would open it for certain situations on the road (like pulling up next to a new NSX to make him cry :rick: :shhh: )
