Actually, I've heard that dumping to open atmosphere can give a cleaner/faster spool because the opening of the wastegate is met with zero back pressure.

I had mine opening to open atmosphere for one day. It sounded like a massive exhaust leak, which it actually is. I had it routed back into the downpipe and you couldn't even hear it opening. I liked this much better.

I also had a cutout valve in my exhaust just after the downpipe before the cat. This is super sleeper. I wired it to an OEM sunroof switch to keep it even more hidden. Here're some pics:




I got it from http://www.mccordcg.com/mpp/mpp.htm. I wasn't really impressed with their product or support though. The Quicktime, while more expensive, might be a better choice.

It was SICK how fast the turbo would spool with that thing open. Sounded like a jet. :chuckles:
