Default 96 accord 2.2 vtec tdc problem

I just got a 96 accord vtech 2.2 with a dtc of 1361 and a 1508. I the resistance check on the tdc sensor reveals a 2.6 and should be in the range of .5 to 1.0. Is this enough out to cause a bad surgeing problem ?? I just go it at a local auction and am just starting to work on it. If i clear the codes it will pick them right back up. The problem here is I want to make sure that these codes aren't connected since the tdc and iac both showing up together.

Thanks for any input that you might have.

Carl

look for broken wires first then replace the tdc the iac and the tdc have nothing a like.the tdc is main input to the computer

begnir thanks for your reply. I did take the ecu out and it has definately been under water. I will get another one delivered tomorrow and then see from there and i will post my results. The wires did ohm out from the ecu to the plugs going to the iac valve and the tdc sensors. The dorossion inside the ecu makes me wonder how it even ran at all.

Thanks again,
Carl

berginr, i got the ecu this morning and that seems to have taken care of the 1508 iac problem but the 1361 tdc sensor still comes into play. if i clear the codes and start the engine and keep the rpm's at or above 3000 everything is fine but if i let them down at or below 2800 then the 1361 comes back and the surging comes back until i reclear and restart again. it's kind of like a fail safe in that anything above and idle you get the up and down and up and down and up and down but like i said only after you initially drop the rpsm's below 2800 if i were to keep it above that it's perfect.

thanks for your reply,

Carl

if you know your wires are good go with the censer water on the ecm seamed more likely but remember it did failed the ohm test.you are lucky it runs with a bad tdc because your 2 main inputs to the computer are the tdc and the map all other inputs(coolant, cam po,intake air temp,o2,ect....)the car still runs but it limps a little.also if you install a new censer and you still read bad ohms you will probably have a burnt wire or loose connector.

berginr, I fianlly got the sensors today and it took care of the problem that was left. It looked like someone had pried on the ckp one when they were trying to get the timing wheel off and the face of it was pressed against the pickup coil so hard that you could see it's outline in the metal. I want to thank all that replied for your help. This forum is great.
Thanks guys,

Carl
