yeah thats what i want the girdle for, you ever here of the guy i think its on honda swap that made his own block filler with epoxy? i think his name was hotrex, he used salt and some liquid aluminum epoxy to make his block closed deck...you think that would work to stiffen it up, for more boost?

dont ghetto rig something as important as that. if you're so concerned, sleeve the block and you'll know its good to go. as for the girdle, golden eagle and other companies make girdle kits which would be a better solution to taking one off a b18c. installing the oil squirters is not going to be easy. you'll have to drill into an oil passage, tap it, then install them. and you still might have to bend them a little to clear the longer stroke of the b18a/b. just upgrade the pistons and rods and you wont need them.

and since noone's mentioned it yet....

vtech = phone company
vtec = honda's variable valve timing and electronice lift control

300 whp is around the limit you want to stay around on most b series motors. You can do it with a bone stock LS motor....if you do happen to have the head off though, get some arp head studs while its open.

You don't want to base a motor's strength on psi...instead base it on how much power it is pushing.

And stock for stock a vtec head will outperform any ls head.

I beg to differ. theres plenty of people making 300+ reliably on honda's. My own car made 300hp at 10.5psi. my gf's gsr made 327 at 11psi, my friends stock ls made 307hp at 13.5psi. and what might seem like a shocker...my friends single cam made 273hp at 12.5psi. as long as the engine is heatlhy, its all in the tune.

Where do you get your incredible misinformation?

11 psi is not the same thing on every turbo.

was just saying its a good rule of thumb. I personally run 14-15psi with a 57trim on my ls (most likely around 300whp).

and by the way I said *around* 300....I know they can make more stock.

1. The block girdle from a GSR has to be machined to fit on the LS.
2. A VTEC head would make a good amount of power over your LS head.
3. It's VTEC, not VTECH
4. Crower makes cams, I don't know about Crowler
5. In terms of power on a stock block, 300whp is *about* as high as you want to go. Sure, VTECNLUDE posted two examples of people making over 300whp reliably, but not much. Anything higher than that starts to compromise the strength of the rods. The tune can only do so much. Once you start making a certain amount of power stresses on the internal components get close to their respective limits...preventing detonation by having a good tune won't help this.
