300 whp is around the limit you want to stay around on most b series motors. You can do it with a bone stock LS motor....if you do happen to have the head off though, get some arp head studs while its open.

You don't want to base a motor's strength on psi...instead base it on how much power it is pushing.

And stock for stock a vtec head will outperform any ls head.
