Default Please Help!!! Vtec Bolt On?

I read in Honda tuning Mag. that you can bolt on a vtec on a dx? I have a 98 civic dx, its slow just for show right now, anyway does anybody know how to wire it, or what I need to do, to get it to work?

Haha... no.

VTEC isn't a bolt-on mod. The entire head is setup to utilize VTEC in design and mechanics whereas a nonVTEC head is not.

VTEC requires the correct oil passages in the head, cams, rockers, solenoid, oil pressure sending unit, and ECU (not to mention wiring). You can't just slap the magic VTEC on a nonVTEC motor without replacing the entire head and updating other parts to enable the upgrade. Continue reading about LS/VTEC and minime swaps to find out more.

Yeah, do some research...ls/vtec and minime swaps......or even vtec on non-vtec block searches...it's not hard

No, thats not what I'm talking about, I wouldn't waste my time or money on a head swap, in Honda Tuning Mag. There was an article about how to bolt on the Vtec and the Vtec intake manifold, and it stat and i quote "the only major modification needed is the IACV wiring. Check out the March '05 issue of Honda Tuning for more information on how to wire the IACV fix" but I tried to back order this, but can't, there all sold out! Does anybody know what I'm talking About?!!
