HT may have said that about the sensor, but what else? I think your lack of understanding about VTEC makes you think the article said something it didn't...

 

U can add vtec on to a non vtec block...

U misunderstood what honda tuning was saying...

They mean by bolting a vtec head on

N all u need to add to get it to work r:

2 wire iacv plug
knock sensor
vtec wire
oil pressure

If u still dont get it
