Default B18c in a 92 Si

Hey all, I just bought a 92 civic Si...and I want to install a B18c motor from a 96 GSR. I have a few questions..

-Would anyone know if the A/C from the SI will work with the motor?
-are the distributors different from the 95 GSR's to the 96 GSR's?
-what other modifications do I need to do in order to fit this B18c in my 92 Si besides the wiring for the injectors?

TIA!

Yes, your stock AC will work. Try to get a 94 or 95 engine though. They are OBD1 where as the 96 is OBD2. The distributers shoud be the same, and I can't think of any others modifications that you would need to do.

Easy swap. Get an OBD1 motor just easier. YOu can keep everything just like stock with a b series swap.

Thanks for your replies, I actually already have the 96 GSR motor. so thats why I was hoping to get more info on the swap. Some one else has told me I can use most of the Si's wiring and cut the plugs off the 96 GSR engine for injectors and add a wire for the knock sensor. Arent the engines pretty much the same except for the extra sensors for OBD2? can I just not ues these sensors? since I have a 95 GSR ecu?

TIA
Anton

OBD1/2 won't really make a difference.

Default What's up?

It will bolt in, but you will have some issues reusing your wiring harness, specifically the one's already mentioned, the distributor and injectors won't plug into your '92 Si harness. You can repin the distributor and cut and solder the '96 injector plugs to make them work, but I've never done it before and I don't know the specifics. You will also need to add the wires for the knock sensor and for the IAB (the secondary intake butterflies).

Your A/C system can be retained, but you will need the lower front engine mount from a '94-'95 Del Sol DOHC VTEC. It's the only mount that will bolt to a B-series engine and has the correct bolt pattern to bolt a D-series A/C compessor to it (the B-series A/C compressor has the wrong connections for the A/C hardlines and any D-series mount won't bolt to the new engine). Seeya.
