Throttle body Sensor question?? 96 integra
What is the name of the sensor behind the throttle body closest to the firewall. Ive had this idle problem for a while and i think that is the only one that hasnt been changed yet, i was taking the wire clip off while it was idleing and it was affectig the idle, it would idle steady at like 1800 with the clip out but when i put it back in the idle goes to the lumpy 1000-1400 idle. So i figure maybe changing this would maybe fix the idle.

Is it on the back of the intake manifold? If so, that's the IACV - idle air control valve. It has coolant running thru it and it's supposed to let the engine idle higher when it's cold so that it warms up faster. Then, when coolant temp is up to normal operating temp, the IACV lets idle drop to whatever the idle adjuster screw is set at. If you have air in your cooling system, or if the IACV is just plain bad, your idle will fluctuate. I have a spare IACV if you need one. It's off a 98 JDM ITR, but it'll fit your 96 Integra since it's the same part number. I bought it when I thought my IACV was bad, but it turned out to be a vacuum hose that blew off under boost. Let me know if you need it. It's $188.57 from the dealer, $150.86 online from http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.net , $60 from me.

yea it is on the back of the throttle body. So it is the TPS, throttle position sensor im guessin? I have already had 2 different IACV in there to see if it would fix it and that wasnt the problem. And any engine just got rebuilt so im sure the mechanic filled up the radiator correct becuase this idle problem has been going on for almost a year without me being able to fully fix it. Would the TPS cause the car to idle like it does if it were to be bad? Let me know becuase i will change it asap, thanks ... later
