Default NEED HELP!!! Tranny (LSD) Question???

I really need a good answer to whether or not an LSD from a Type R tranny will fit into a LS Tranny. All are 94+ hydros. I've heard yes and no. I just need a good correct answer. Thanks guys.:naughty:

I don't see why it wouldn't fit. Both are b-series trannies and hydro.

Some people say that you need to just change out the end bearing to a type R one. Others say you have to that plus change the final gear to a type r one also.

this is what i say to confusion :madfawk:

The diff sizes should be the same, as well as the bearings, you should use whatever final drive came in the tranny to avoid excessive bind or lash though, unless you can verify that the clearances are ok, because you normally have to change the mainshaft to be able to change the final gear size since they're a mated set designed for a certain mesh in the tranny.

Not really a pita. I can have the whole tranny down to just a shaft w/ all the synchros, sliders, & gears in a couple of minutes.

It's all about the 20 ton press in the backyard
