Yes, there was. In JDM land, the SiR was offered with optional LSD...and it has the same gear ratios as a USDM 94-01 GSR tranny.

To answer the question, the only difference is the gear ratios.

itr tranny's have shorter gear ratios for better acceleration than a gsr. only downside is you'll be cruising at ~4500rpm @ 80 with an itr, 4K @ 80 with a gsr.

True. There is really not much of a downside of cruising at rpms that high. The mpg difference will be negligible.

i have an itr tranny in my car, and i like it a lot more then the GSR trans, not only fot the LSD, but also it revs up quicker and the closer gears really make a difference

yea, thats what i was wondering about the gears, cuz i kno my gears which is just GSR not ITR on my b16 i have longer gears an have a better top end, then this boy i raced with a LS motor in a hatchback(he went through like 1 1/2 gears before i went into 3rd), for the most part we were side by side then he pulled a lil bit but his tranny tops out at 110 an with mine, i have a crx an my speedo only goes to 125, i had it burried where it cant no further an still accelerating.. an i only have a stock b16 with the tranny, clutch, an intake...

LS tranny does not top out at 110, how did you figure this out?
