Default H22 head on H23 block..

My friend just got his 4th gen Prelude with a H23 motor in it, 2.3L DOHC non-vtec..

Is it possible to swap an H22 head with cams and everything in it on the H23 block, is it just bolt on? How much can he rev with this setup? Actually the head on his H23 now is wrecked and he are looking for a new head. So if its possible with the H22 head i guess it'd be more power, and vtec offcourse

yes, but the reliability comes into question and its hasrder to get stabile

but a h23 head on it and then turbo for the same ammount you'd waste on that setup and get more power out of it too...

So you mean that the H23 head on the H23 block gives more power when turbo converting the motor? That means less compression...i guess?

i dont know what i even wrote there, what i meant to say was a full h23 when boosted will give you more power and be less pricey than a h22/h23 frank

the combo has been done but it is a job, it's harder than perfecting a ls/vtec setup and you run a good chance of blowing it up.

turbo, as long as it's tuned by a qualified person, is amazing with the h23, just turbo and a Port and polish with a dremel should yeild way more power than just an h22 head.

Fair warning, a DIY port and polish is a perfect way to destroy the way a head flows. Unless you really know what you're doing (i.e., you port race heads for a living), don't do a homemade port and polish!!! Honda heards flow excellent from the factory... all you'll do is screw it up and lose power.
