he said if i get the head (dont know which i would use), oil squirters, and rest of the vtec stuff, and the ecu he would install and put the squirters in for 600. i have no intension of goin to 8k yet. after i rebuild and lower comp for a turbo maybe. i know a guy with a type-r and 40k into the motor (type-r block, si head.. his old motor blew) and he makes around 650hp professional drag car.

I removed the oil squirters in my GSR bottom end and plugged the holes. I rev to 9.5k all the time (with forged internals) with an LS crankchaft. No problems. Squirters are definitely not necessary if you're running forged internals.

I know many people who run ls/vtec setups reliably daily without oil squirters. Its definitely not worth $600.

I have an LS/VTEC, with my stock B18A Bottom end and a B16A head with ferrea valves and ferrea guides, type R cams, and type R springs.

My car is now turboed. I LOVE IT.

NO PROBLEMS WHAT SO EVER (Knocking on wood!)

for 600 bucks, you can get a gs-r bottom end, and have everything already needed to rev to 9k, except for the main studs.

Actually, they do add a little weight to the pistons (its a constant stream of oil, not spurts), so it actually robs you of some performance (very minor though).

i want to keep the ls bottom because it has a larger displacement even though its not much and has lower comp to start

ask your self, where does this larger displacement come from?? It comes from the crank/rod setup, not the actual block. For 700 bucks, you can buy the gs-r block and get a ls crank to suite what you want.
