Pulling transaxle ('92 Civic)
I should have asked this question two days ago, but can you pull the transaxle out without disconnecting the right side A-arm on the suspension? I didn't try it that way, I just looked at the clearances and figured I had to allow more room for the axle to move so I unbolted the A-arm from the chassis. The transaxle came right out, but I was curious about how I did it.
After working on a couple of these Hondas, I'm finding them fairly easy to deal with.

It mainly depends on the car, and how much trouble you want to deal with as far as room/manipulation of the axle removed versus attached to the A-arm. Normally when I pull an axle it's to replace it, so I couldn't rightly tell you how often it works, I just know that on some of the cars you can get away with unbolting things as a unit to get enough room to pull the axle out of the differential.
 Honda's aren't hard to work on, now Jaguar's, MG's, and select toyotas... that's another story

Yeah, but you probably figured I already knew that.
Thanks for the reply. I got the seal and clutch replaced this morning and got it back together. The way I dealt with the axle was to unbolt the A-arm where it attaches to the underside of the chassis and leave everything else together, then I just pulled the transaxle case away from the motor and the axle and suspension moved with it as one. Worked great.
