1995 Civic Transaxle Seal Leak - Help!
Hello, I am pleased to say outside from regular maintenance like replacing brakes and halfshafts, I have not had to do hardly any work on our 1995 auto honda civic.
This last time that I replaced the passenger side halfshaft, the seal began leaking (on a car that has never leaked any fluids).
I replaced the seal, only to have it leak worse.
I figured I must have not got the halfshaft back in all the way, so I took everything apart for the third time. I think I might have not been pushing the seal in completely. Put it back together and it worked fine.
Well.... Now it's two months later and I have the same seal leaking.
I am beginning to wonder if the halfshaft was not machined properly. I was assured that those surfaces are new, and not machined from old rebuilt returns, but it's the only thing I can think of.
If anyone can shed some light on this tricky leak, I'll owe you big!
