also, 205 hp at the crank isn't really all that much for an s13, and 220 isnt that much power for a s14. The power/weight ratio on both cars aren't far off of eachother if you think of it like that.
also, the type-r tranny is a hardcore racing tranny with near perfect gearing. after the mediocre fwd launch, it will start to shine in second gear, and it will really shine in third gear.

NO WAY IN HELL A 240SX NA beats a GST. that 240SX could have all the bolt-ons he want's, its still not gonna happen.

Sr20det engine are fast as hell but which one would you choose people a Sr20det or ITR.Personally im been an integra fan i own all 3 models i would choose ITR thats my opinion.Anyone seen a ITR with a turbo in action please respond for your details if you seen one in action.
personally, i prefer the low port sr engines. with an aluminum block and forged internals [stock], youre lightweight and have the potential for ~450rwhp with stock internals.
the shortfalls of the sr is probably the tranny. rwd trannies are ok, but the awd trannies break easily. fwd trannies dont last long either when theyre mated with a turbo engine.
the type-r engine is no joke, either. like i said before, the type-r trannies are near-perfect. i guess type-r's are good if turbo isn't your sort of thing.

yea, honda's been trying to do its best to keep up with the other manufacturer's specs and performance without using fi. personally, i think the past year or two honda has not at all been even remotely close to competing with turbo street cars, like the wrx and evo8. they need to use the s2000 motor in a more affordable car...something that's low 20k's.
also....for people wanting to mod a car, starting out with a turbo car is a lot easier and better for high performance. for one, you dont need to touch the internals if you're running about 1 bar, whereas with a honda you'd need to rehaul basically the entire engine.

I'd like to clear a few things up. I have a 1995 Nissan 240sx. For starters, a 240sx with a SR@ stock boost would rock a TypeR. I know, because I have one. A lot of 240sx have LSD stock so that 99% is crap. It came with the ABS package, and the hicas package, so there are TONS of them around. I have a LSD on my 95. An the GST vs. 240, a 240 would have a GOOD chance of winning. I've taken GSTs and even GSXs with my KA. The KA is a torque monster, don't take it lightly. It has a much better power band than most 4cyls.
The 240 has 155hp, 160tq and it's about 2650lb and RWD
The GST has 210hp, 214tq and it's about 2900lb and FWD
It's not that hard to figure, that the 250lb less, and the RWD could easily make the HP difference it would take to win.
I could walk any FWD car off the line (both running street tires). That ALWAYS gives me a huge advantage.
I've seen a Type R run a 15.5 @LACR (don't remember speed), it only has exhaust and a CAI.
I've ran 14.4@101 at LACR. My SR isn’t "stock" though although it's stock boost, I have 3in down pipe, and full 3in exhaust, FMIC, and a K&N.
Line me up with any TypeR and I’ll walk on him.
The video you guys were referring to I have on my site the video is a joke, no way the typeR would pull on him. It was obviously a Honda bias video:

It's a slow server so I don't want to hear complaining, if you want the video you'll wait, if not you wont

well if you are running your sr20det at stock boost and running 14.4 @101 then i dont think you know how to drive chief and a type-r running a 15.5 is believable considering the amount of overweight italian males that seem to buy them around me.
im not impressed by the type-r in straighline acceleration because my car is faster than it
but im also not impressed with your numbers either, what was your 60' time?
your trap speed is a little high for 14.4
although i do not deny the overall build quality and superior engineering that went into the b18c5
and while we are comparing nissans and hondas why dont we talk about the skyline versus the NSX.
ever seen driftworks 3? an NSX shits on a GT-R on a semi technical track, in fact the GT-R spins out behind the NSX cause he doesnt have the suspension engineering honda does.
and the NSX is NA
