Though there is certainly PLENTY wrong with streetracing, I am more interested in the second part of your statement. Without having any numbers in front of me, I would tend to agree that more people die from everyday driving than do as a result of streetracing itself, in total. However, it is pretty shortsighted to simply stand on that point, because there probably needs to be some adjustment to adequately compare the two activities. If you took the numbers in raw form (as you have in your argument) and could actually adjust the numbers to "deaths per miles driven," I would have to believe that the streetracing numbers would be higher considering the fewer numbers of participants and the distance travelled during the activitiy, compared to all other drivers and the miles that they drive on a daily basis.

no one is purposely looking to "kill" someone in a streetrace, its just an unfortunate accident like anything else
OK, with this logic we should excuse a drunk driver's causation of a fatal traffic accident. "It's just an unfortunte accident..." You and I both know where the blame sits in this situation. It's no different when streetracing causes a fatal crash.

take some time to think about what i said
Good advice for yourself.

90% of street-racers out there have very little track experience, much less driving school or other official education.

Anyone over the age of 14 can drive a car. However, even PROFESSIONAL drivers occaisionally screw up when we're talking about full throttle accleration and speeds that can reach 100+. Hitting a pothole at 120 can easily cause you to lose control, and you're going to notice this 100 yards in front of you? (in time to react).

When you're speeding down the interstate, State troopers will usually pace you, but only to a certain extent, because they KNOW the dangers and limitations of the vast majority of cars, and that it's too dangerous. Chances are, unless you drive a corvette/exotic/supercar , your vehicle was designed to be stable at low speeds, and passing those limitations is just dumb.

Now... let's throw other drivers into the equation. They're going the speedlimit (much slower than you). Their eyes are diverted to what you're doing (everyone wants to watch). They can't estimate your next move, and they certainly can't see you coming while they're sitting at a stop sign or red light in front of the race.

That being said, I like to compare street racing to sex with a prostitute. Yeah, it can be fun, but you never know when you'll pick up something nasty... whether it be warts (just body damage to the car) or AIDS (kill yourself). I once grazed a guardrail when I was 16, changing CD's in my car... going 60 mph and just diverted my attention for a second. If I would have it it at 90, things would be a lot different.

Exactly. The number of people driving normally everyday is *FAR* greated than the numbers of people street racing. This does NOT make street racing any "safer" than driving everyday. If you looked at this statistically based on number of fatalities alone without any influence of other data (number of participients, distance, etc) I'm sure street racing will look "safe". Of course, that's a foolish way to look at it and about as obvious as the whole "most accidents occur withint 4 miles of your home". Well duh, that's where you spend a majority of time.

The issue isn't whether or not Street Racing is right or wrong. In any arguement its wrong. I'm arguing the fact that I can no longer discuss it on this forum and the reasons that the admins chose to remove such content from this website. I can't count the times that some thread started off with some idiot boasting about an illegal and was followed by several "You're an idiot" posts. Whats wrong with that? I simply feel that members should be allowed to discuss what they'd like (with respects to nationality, religion, and ethnicity.) Its a shame that the admins do not.

The Ford guy seems to be the most intelligent pro-street race topic guy here, perhaps some of you should be more like him.
First of all, I quoted you saying something about what you COULD do, not what you DID do.

I personally dont care if I look like a fool anymore, you're opinions of me don't affect my daily life.
