I don't see the problem here... the only reason you (meaning those bitching about the change) want to post your street racing antics is to showoff.

If a woman can spill coffee on herself and make money on it, a private owner of a web board can be sued by some dumbass that says he got the idea to run his car head first into a wall while racing an elderly man driving his scooter store scooter from here. h:

Just get over it and actually go to a track sometime.

I recall someone with a turbo sedan posting a story about beating a Corvette.

I rarely posted stories but I enjoyed reading them and big debates that took place.

I already got busted on this rule, and I'm FAR FROM a proponent of street racing h: Whatever, there are plenty of other places you can talk about it. I personally like all the changes on HAN in the last few months... It's a more mature site now, more organized.

Exactly.

I was the president of a national automotive club a few years back. During my tenure I learned about "tacit approval" which means that if you don't take an active role in discouraging certain behaviors, you are in terms of the tort law endorsing them and you can be held liable.

It's yet another thing to blame lawyers for screwing up. And it's really hard to blame people for covering their asses when it may well be YOUR Mom/Wife/dog walker that could be doing the suing.

"Free speech" means you're free to start your own message board with your own freedom of expression, not that you have a pulpit anywhere you see fit and that CONGRESS will not infringe on that right. Any congressional types here?

I can't believe the discussion about TOS has gone to 3 pages. I have seen little discussion about victims of street racing, and a lot more about "poor me", and "my rights." What about those who do not wish to share in the risk some idiot with a nitrous button takes, but just want to get home safely from the store/work, etc? That very attitude is why street racing shouldn't be promoted anywhere. If you don't like the terms, leave. Simple.

Us discussing it does not affect how you get home. Doesn't matter now, it won't go back to the way it was.

Correct, but you don't see me complaining now that it would be locked if brought back from the dead. Also, this was the ONLY thread of its kind that I posted in 5 +/- years of posting here. h:
