All you need to worry about is that you're not going to talk about it here. It influences the sponsors' perception of what the site is about, it gives the world a negative opinion of what we are, and it advocates an activity that leads to the deaths of hundreds of us every year.

You really just need to give up on this...it's not happening. You're not going to be able to discuss street racing here.

Talk about your motor modifications, methods of launching, the best clutch for a given application.

There's too much left for you to talk about, legitimately, for you to get bogged down in this.

I just got off the phone with the state police and they have informed me there is something called the first amendment. Says something about freedom of speech.
Shall we respond to that as one who is under oath, or would you prefer that we ignore that comment as your having made a little error in judgement?

If you don't like the direction HAN is going then you are free to leave. You are not being held here against your will.

This isn't my forum. You people are free to do with it as you please, and I'm sure you didn't need me to tell you this. I'm not going to bitch and moan about you people taking it away. My only regrets are that after posting in mostly just the kills section for 3+ years I kinda regarded HAN as my home. I post over on other forums, but the people I know (whether I like them or hate them) are here.[....]

All of us have to keep in mind that this is a privately owned business. The owners are free to do what they will. You can't argue "freedom of speech" and "first amendment" issues here. They simply don't apply. However, I'd like to point out that I think you're motivation is flawed...

Getting sponsor's to buy advertising space on your website is influenced by one thing.... NUMBERS. If you don't have the members to view the ads, the sponsors aren't going to advertise with you. Like Nathan said, the amount of users you have online is shrinking. Forcing us out only makes your numbers smaller.

I think I might have lost track of something, here.

Let me please just make sure I have this straight.

HAN had a Kills Forum.

Kills Forum was merged with Drag Racing, and then the kills stories were locked? Is that what happened, exactly?

Whats the problem with inviting the people you no longer wish to be on your forum to another one?

After speaking with George Knighton I realize I can not invite my friends to another board without violating the TOS. So I'd like to say that any of you who know me feel free to contact me via email, pm, or IM. I'm going to start posting more on another Honda board and I'd like to have some of you guys come with me.

Jkan, you can stay here.

Nu uh. I know of one car related site whose Off-Topic forum got a little (a lot) blue and a company refused to sponsor them because of that. This is America, and if a kid kills someone/him or herself street racing the relatives of the victims are going to look for someone to blame. IE sue. And since sponsoring companies have more money than some enthusiasts who started a board... You hear it every day about every subject - '____ should have known,' and '_____ is responsible'.
And believe it or not, companies care about their image. Ask a club racer if he'd buy stuff from a site that catered to street racers - even if they sell products cheap that the club racer needs, that racer is gonna walk. he'll go somewhere like opm.

BTW, I just recently registered here. I knew about the site from way back, but the street racer type crowd kept me away. Whether that's good or bad, you decide

EDIT: I did not imply OPM wasn't cheap. OPM is :goodjob:

I'm sure you can find exceptions to anything. No members = no sponsors. Plain and simple. Now, the "powers that be" may want to replace all of the members like me, but they certainly don't want to simply lose us all. (And by saying "like me" I mean members who feel they should be able to DISCUSS street racing)

well yes the mods do what they feel will make the board a better place
i fell arguing freedom of speech is usless because it is privately owned
no one is forcing u to stay here but the mods forgot that a lot of people who only post here for the kills stories section are gonna be affected by this
if u guys(moderators) simply state that if users don't like it then they can leave, i personally feel thats showing one thing only.......that mods who feel the way i desribed simply don't care if members stay or leave....even ones that have been here a long time
