I like what you guys have done with the site. You've definitely reduced your bandwidth requirements, anyway (125 current users online vs. 577 a year ago). Wow! How did you guys make such an improvement to the site? Could it be:
Ignoring the fact that the vast majority of your members are fine with discussing "unlawful activities"?
Enforcing rules that >99% of members have never seen or agreed to prior to joining?
Re-arranging/combining some of the forums, while deleting others?
Locking posts due to "unlawful activities" (unless, of course, mods/admins are involved)?

I have no problem with any of these people or anything they are saying.... but if you are going to go NAZI with your sh!tty new rules (even on 20+ really old posts), at least take the time to go through and lock threads with moderators "dicussing unlawful activities".
Yeah... you guys are doing a great job.

To discuss legal racing at an official drag race track. It's not that difficult of a concept.

By joining, you are accepting the rules weither you took the time to read them or not. Deal with it.

I don't know if you guys noticed, but the kills section was the only part of the board that had any number of pro-street racing people. The rest of the board can't stand street racing, so the completely useless Kills section was converted into a new, informative section about legal drag racing.

im gonna have to call BS on this one. I can assure you that talking about street racing is legal. I just got off the phone with the state police and they have informed me there is something called the first amendment. Says something about freedom of speech. But hey, you know how this forum condone's illegal activity and obviously is the reason for the recent outburst of street racing. I know i never even knew what racing was till this forum. Also, if theres people that don't like it, they don't have to come into the forum. I also notice the lack of users compared to last year. But hey, when your more repressive then a communist government, who wants anything to do with you? BTW, this forum is definitely the cause of alot of trouble, and im so glad you got rid of all these horrrible stories. This forum filled me with this urge to race, which is slowly subsiding. THANKS HAN! YOUR NUMBER 1!!!

communist government? LOL go live in one for 20 years then come back to report. You're blind if you think these rules are anywhere near a communist government.

Sometimes, people really do amaze me.

People never fail to amaze me. Too bad, I really enjoyed coming here to listen to people talking shit. BTW, I have gone over 120 mph on a desert public road in Texas, does my making that statement here mean this thread will now be locked?

nope. Maybe the TOS should be more clear. Either way, posts/threads discussing STREET RACING will be locked/deleted. I'm really not sure how much clearer I can explain that.

And those who want to leave the forum because we wont allow the discussion of street racing are free to go. If that's the only thing you come here for then I'm afraid you'll be disappointed. That's the price we will have to live with.

So did the site get new ownership, or did someone just decide they were going to start enforcing the terms of service after a few years?

Well the site is still owned by Drumsy so I guess the other is true. There are new admins, some new super mods and some new mods though. The site is being changed. Not everyone will like the changes. As I said before though, those who don't may leave. We have chosen to live with that. It's not the best, I wish everyone would stay, but at the same time I certainly understand that some wont agree with the new direction of the site.

Trey (Asahi) is listed as a co-owner, now, and the TOS under which we operate is a new one.

You might want to take the time to make sure you read it and understand what it really says.

It is meant to be a living document, and we allow that its terms can be interpreted slightly differently in the different forums. For example, we recently had an intense discussion about what "respectable" could mean in the different forums, and we agreed that it would be enforced a little differently in the Basement.

You'll also note that the TOS makes it clear that we cannot put everything in writing, and we cannot attempt to replace the law or enforce the law w/an Internet TOS.

We are determined about street racing, though, and we mean to eliminate it as an influence in how people regard HAN as a marketing alternative for sponsors.

Nope.

However, if you start posting that you think that people should be allowed to do that, and you openly state that you are going to engage in contests of speed on public highways, in disregard of what the moderator has already told you, then you will be more than "locked."

I really think that some of us are engaging in sensationalism, and fighting for the fight's sake, without due consideration to the facts and consequences.
