cold water + hot engine = very bad...causes the metal to cool down and contract too fast and it cracks

i have never had a problem with it. I washed my 96 lx numerous times when hot. I dont "pour" water on the engine. That WILL cause a rapid cooldown of the outer engine causing warpage/cracks. I spray it lightly, not all at once. Its better when its running because its creating heat from the inside out so you'll have virtually no cool down because the heat is being replaced from the inner engine.

Also i might add: When its hot, oil/grease/etc comes off easier than when cold. This is good if your not using a cleaner, you can just "spray" oil off.

I did my gf family's Accord yesterday with whatever I had left over in the spray can. It worked pretty well on warm engine too. I'll have to do it again though cause I didn't have enough time.

What did you use to clean it? Just soap, or simple green???

I like NGK wires. A guy on group buy was selling some. I'm not sure if he still is or not.

I used GUNK Foam Engine Cleaner. When I did my gf's Accord, I was lazy and didn't cover anything and still went to town with the spray and water. No problems at all. In the future, I prob won't cover anything. Orig when I did mine, the engine was cold, but I ran it for like 3mins to warm it up. The can says use on a cold engine, but we all know that grease comes off easier when warm, so that is what I did. Ok , everyone go out and clean your bays!
