Cleaning Engine Bay
Has anyone done this?
I was wondering about cleaning the engine bay. So what should you wrap in plastic? "You may also want to protect other parts from moisture, such as the distributor and electrical parts" leaves me wondering.

When I clean mine I simply cover my filter and distributor. I also refrain from heavy spraying around electrical stuff and also the top of the valve cover (you don't water in there with your spark plugs). I usually let my car idle for like 2 minutes afterwards as well, it was suggested somewhere, and I just do it so the engine kinda heats up and thus the water will warm up and evapourate sooner
I just cleaned my engine bay to day. Buy a spray bottle of AUTOMOTIVE SIMPLE GREEN! that stuff will take off all the $hits. just let your engine cool and spay sparingly dont for get to cover the eletrical stuff and take the pressure washer and blast your engine. Take a rag and clean the grease off and dry the bay up.
Yup cleaned my engine this past weekend for the FIRST time! I must say I was quite impressed. All I did was use aluminum foil to wrap up the distributor, ABS system (had a lot of exposed coilds), filter and some misc electrical wires. Here's a pic:
