Fuel Problem?? HELP ANYONE???
wassup everyone well here it is,
I got this car a 1990 honda Civic DX (4 door) for $400 with 90,000 miles on it. When i start the car from a cold start It starts rite up on the 1st crank, But i noticed it didn't start 1 day after I shut it off and this problem persisted after i shut it off it will not start untill basicaly it's ready. After i start the car and let it idle and i step on the gas the motor accelarates but i notice a flat spot when i continue to step on the gas (like a hesitation or buck). So i took the car around the block and that's exactly what it does, sometimes at no particluar idle or at same place every time but only when gas is being stepped on. It's a (hestation or a buck). The car has been sitting for over a yr or so, Is it possible to have condinsation in the fuel tank that is making it to do this? The car hasn't been driven for more then a half a tank of gas. I think it's either the fuel pump or the fuel injectors (I think this model DPFI has only 2 fuel injectors.) Can it be the fuel regulator that is under the hood mounted on the firewall? Can it have a fouled plug or fuel injector, but like i said it doesn't do it every rotation of the crankshaft (such as in the firing order.) It's getting a spark when it doesn't start. I'm a backyard mechaninic, all i got is my tools and my Chilton Repair Manual. It's easy to fix something if you know what the problem is but in this case I dont know where to start? Any advice anyone?
