Need help detaching shift linkage from tranny

Default Need help detaching shift linkage from tranny

I am going to pull the transmission out of my honda, I have one arm unbolted but the other is a shaft that travels into my transmission, do i have to pull the rubber sheathing away from the transmission to disconnect the shaft will i need special tools is there a link where i can read or see a diagram?

you need a small punch, and all you need to do it punch out that push pin which is under that spongy thing

pull back the boot, and remove the retaining clip. you will see a roll pin holding everything together. i have found that a valve guide installer is a perfect fit for this.

i put a 4 mm socket on an extension and used that, worked perfectly. just make sure whatever you use does not fit inside of the pin, cause it will just spread the pin out and make it stuck in there.
