It doesnt make it easier to steal!!!!

Basically you only need to tap into an ignition wire in the main harness going from the ignition switch and connect that to the 12V input side of the switch. then you can either just tap into the starter wire or cut it(that way you need to know where the switch is in order to start the car, better idea imo) and that is that. You will need to have the key in the ignition II position in order to make the switch active.

its the easiest thing to do, well ive also been doing remote starts in alot of cars so i can hotwire basically anything that doesnt have an immobilizer

hi guys... i have the 04' tsx...and im trying to find out if i can do the push button start...

i can put a remote starter with the alarm.... and use the fob from the remote to unlock/disarm the system... and using a push button... under the dash would turn on the car, but WITHOUT putting the key in the ignition

as far as worrying about somebody stealing the car... if the car is broken into the alarm would disable the ignition...

in addition to this, the viper systems have gps telematics if i am not mistaken... and has the remote started/alarm etc built into it...and can be tracked by satellite and can be shutdown also...

so i would be able to turn on my car with the button and still not worry about it being stolen

is this possible? what about the wheel locking because there isnt a key in the ignition?

suggestions please!

If the alarm/key system COMES with its own fob for use with the starter button, then yeah that's how it works, but if it's for anything else then no. You have to be in range of the button (like a foot or so) and you have to have the right code, but not only is every keyfob's code different, the car sends a random code back to the keyfob to stash in memory, so that only it can come back and start the car again.

kk u kinda lost urself vikrampatel. If u have a factory alarm system or aftermarket with start. The unit should have a GROUND out when armed, that would be wired to a relay, and the relay will sit between the key cylinder and the starter motor. When the unit is armed, there is NO way that someone can start ur car, unless they cut the relays ground off. As far as push buttons, 04 TSX uses an RF key aka immobilizer at the key cylinder. So there is no way u can start ur car without the key in the ignition, unless u wired up a Bypasskit to be active during remote start AND during push button. When u do push button starts, u require alot of knowledge in electronics (relays, diodes, power etc) cuz u need to power the ignition, acc, and start without key. If u use ur key, and put the key into ignition, then push start, its easy as cake.

for push with key into ignition this is how i would wire it.

wire push button, ground to button, button to relay make sure when button pushed, ground is present

Relay terminal 85 to ignition
Relay terminal 86 to push button (shows ground when pushed)
Relay terminal 87 to Constant 12volts Fused with 30 amps.
Relay terminal 30 to start wire, Motor side.

when ground is prsent, relay allows 12v to the starter, once it has started u MUST LET GO, this is not a button that will auto detect ur car is running.
