91 Civic Si B16a Bogging Issues
How s it going. As I stated the other day about my ecu issue. Had car looked @ for a few days. I thought I had either a bad fuel pump. The shop said my dizzy & fp was ok. I was told could be my main relay. Changed that & car started right up, no bogging etc.
Well, I thought that took care of all my issues.Last night I was on the highway cruising around 70. My car started bogging again. It'll be driving then feel like you running out of gas & then you feel a hard bang like getting bumped hard from rear then picks up speed & does this over 100xs . It did this the whole hr/half drive home.
Could it be my injectors, dizzy or what? It def. seems like some sort of fuel issue, but wat.
If anyone can help me out with suggestions I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks

What are the ECU codes it's throwing? (if any)
If no codes,
-check all grounds (transmission, valve cover, thermostat housing, neg battery terminal, car body)
-coil OR ignitor (both in the dizzy, you can test them with a multimeter)
My car recently did the same thing (major bogging over 2K RPM and tach was falling off then spiking). I replaced the dizzy with one from CarQuest (around $255 including tax).

Yeah, ChrisS. Haven't checked those things you mentioned. The thing about it is I can be driving around 80,70 or whatever speed & everyhting all good then out of no where it'll slow down like running out of gas then hard kicks right after another. Very annoying.
So, lets say I wanted to hit up carquest to order a new dizzy what car/motor do I ask for since I have a 1gen B16. Should I get one for a 99-00 Si or Delsol w/ a B16.
Prob, try to check out car Mon since it'll be in the high 70s.

I don't know about B16 engines.
My '91 CRX Si is plain old stock D16A6 with California emissions.
Ask them if they can test your coil and ignitor.
70 MPH = 3700 RPM on my car's tach. (As the coil or ignitor fails more, the RPMs before the engine starts missing will get lower.)

My Guess It's your IVAC OR FITV.
My Gsr motor was doing the exact same thing.
took them both off.
Clean them up with some brake fluid.
Problem never came back
Here's a write up on how to clean your FITV
