Default rear disk conversion - alignment

I'm did a rear disc conversion on a 91 CRX using a 91 Integra. I took it to get an alignment and the shop can't get one side aligned for some reason. I swear I did the same thing on both sides... the passenger side aligns fine but the drivers side is off. It has a lot of toe out and negative camber (I camber isn't even adjustable).

I used the CRX compensator arms and integra everything else. Looking closer at it the drivers side compensator arm does look a little longer and have slightly different angles... does that sound right? If it was a little short that would help.

Any ideas? I could order integra compensator arms but would hate to do that and find out they're exactly the same.

Thanks

Ummm. You're talking about front alignment, right? Well I read somewhere not to use certain year integra parts to do the brake conversion UP FRONT, as it could cause bad camber problems. If you're talking about rear alignment...what do you mean? You can't align rear wheels on a crx, as far as i know . However, you could install a rear camber kit to even out the negative camber effect.

No, unfortunately I'm talking about the rear. There is a very small amount of alignment you can do with the compensator arm but other then that your right... it can't be changed. The more I think about it I can't figure out why its out of alignment.

I can think of only two things: 1. Your bushings maybe be goin to shit or something or 2. Some or one of the components is bent. Other than that, I don't know :dunno:.

Well, I'm gonna trailer my car home Monay then it looks like I'll be spending some quality time underneath it trying to figure out what went wrong. When I figure it out... or do a work around... I'll post an update just for an FYI.

So, what year and model CRX are you using?

Also, what year and model CRX's have All Wheel Disc brakes?

if you find the compensator arms somewhere(try honda) cross reference the part number to determine if they are identical or not.

but if you think about it, if one of them is different then the other then you have an inconsistancy that is probably causing your camber problem right there in the compensator arms. generally the person that attempts to align it will check to make sure the bolts and ball joints and bushings are intact. i could see how different size and shape compensator arms could be missed, and how it could cause your problem.

I have a 91 CRX HF and I put 91 Integra trailing arm, control arms, struts and shocks on the rear.

I did this and found they do have different part numbers. I think they are pretty much the same thing though, just stronger. Haven't managed to fine any actual specs for both... figure that will be tough. (Anyone want to pull one off their Integra and measure it for me? Ha! I crack myself up sometimes)

generally the person that attempts to align it will check to make sure the bolts and ball joints and bushings are intact.
The shop did do this and showed me that I need new bushings. Even with new bushings though it won't quite line up.

i could see how different size and shape compensator arms could be missed, and how it could cause your problem.
I think that will be the first thing I do. Pull both compensator arms and compare them.
