It's not hard at all to remove and replace that pin if you have the right size punch and a hammer.

Very annoying, and i know it's fixing to break or something. Does anybody else have this problem?
check the end of the cable where it hooks over the top of the pedal arm - sounds like it may be sticking - should have a little grease on it

Nope. That was not it. I lubed where it hits the pedal and even where it meets the tranny. I even sprayed some cable lube in the cable while i had it off. My clutch pedal stays down when not connected. I figured that spring thing is suppossed to make it pop back up, but mine does'nt. Could that cause the popping sound. Also, i noticed the pedal wiggles from side to side(freeplay), which i don't think it should.

Edit: I don't know for sure though. I'm still messing with it as i type this. It seems to be a little quieter now. Maybe the grease just had to have time to go where it should or maybe it's just something you(I) have to deal with, being it's a 15 year old car. Thanks again.

Mine pops too. Especially when it's cold outside. I'm not sure what it is, but to guess, I'd say it's the pedal itself. I have a practically new clutch cable in there now, and it still pops, so the pedal/pedal assembly must be the culprit.

Yep. I think it's the pedal at the pivot point too. It's not really a loud pop, but you can feel it too when it pops, everytime you press the clutch. It's just something i'd like to fix, if it's a simple fix.

I don't really know exactly what it is, but my guess is the little pivoting pt. I believe there is a bushing in there that the pedal pivots on, so try removing that and lubing it up or something. I'm just soooo lazy and i've been under there so many times, I hate it. It so uncomfortable, even for someone who's 5'-4" .

Put some grease where the cable meets the pedal like jlicrx said above. It did not initally stop my popping, but it did make it not as loud. Now, it seems to have completely quit popping. You will need to take the cable off the pedal to get it in there good.

I searched but search wasn't working for me wouldn't bring up anything.

My Grandpa's got a '90 Civic that I was just driving and had transmission problems barely got home. Basically it popped out of 5th gear a couple times on the freeway. The last time I could put it back in 5th gear but its like the car was still in neutral rpm's could just climb. The exit was right there and I exited. Going home from the freeway there was once I couldn't get the car into 1st gear. Finally got it into 2nd and just started in 2nd. Then when I got home the car won't seem to go into any gear now or seems to be stuck in a high gear no matter where you move the shifter. It has been something you can definitely feel in the shifter now, isn't shifting its regular way, won't go into gears. So think I blew this tranny or my bitch pin is out? Oh yeah car has 250,000 but tranny was rebuilt 80,000 ago with new bearings and things.
