89-91 transmissions are all interchangeable - the oddball is the 88, due to the 21 spline input shaft

Cool. Thanks for the input guys. The guy who sold it to me said that it might have the wrong clutch cable, and i'm still gonna replace that arm. For $100, it's cheaper to do those little things than to get another tranny, and have problems with it. I'm picking these things up friday, and probably have it done by monday. I'll post what happen, and if it turns out i need a new tranny, then i'll definitely pm anyone that has a 90-91 tranny. Thanks again.

I just skimmed this but didn't see where you replaced the throwout bearing.

I talked with a honda dealership yesterday, and they said that the release arm shouldn't be my problem, and after further checking it, it doesn't have that much free play. They said it's probably just a defective clutch kit. Well, i'm gonna look for my receipt and bring that sucker in for an exchange. Anybody ever experience a problem like this? Although i bought the car as a project, one would think to replace the clutch, one only needs to remove the tranny once. Here i am, with a non movable crx, which i've taken out the tranny three times to solve this.

Hey guyz just to update, i finally got the crx working again. The whole time i've been fixing parts, it was the actual clutch pedal assembly that broke. The little pin that the clutch pedal pivots from snapped. In effect, i wasn't getting leverage to pull the clutch out. Has anyone else had a problem like this? It seems odd that the actual assembly would break like that. Anyway, thanks for all your input guys.

I know this is an old thread, but my pedal is starting to make a clicking(popping) noise everytime i depress it. Could it be this pin your talking about fixing to break? I just got down an pressed it and looked with a flashlight, and could not really tell where it is making the noise. It kind of pops a little when it's almost fully depressed. Very annoying, and i know it's fixing to break or something. Does anybody else have this problem?
