Default Shift linkage & starting problems

I just recently did a engine swap from a HF engine to a D16Z6 and my shift linkage wont come off my old tranny, i would use the one that came off the Si tranny but it didnt come with the tranny. Also everything is plugged up fine but my fuel pump isnt getting any power and my main relay isnt even clicking anymore? Im stuck and dont know what to do!!!

An 8mm non-tapered punch and a nice hammer will knock the shift linkage roll pin right out.

Check to see if you are getting power to the main relay. If you are, it might be burned out. Common problem.

if you have air tools get an air hammer. We did that on the ZC swap and shot the pin across the room!!! heheh

thanks that did the trick now the cars starts but it idles at about 4000 to 1000 back to 3000 to 1000 and so fourth. Also we noticed that the readiator hose doesnt build up any pressure or get hot at all would that have something to do with the fan switch? But besides that it rums fine if you try to drive it, it bogs out like it has a vaccum leak some where.

did you bleed the cooling system?...if you didn't then you are not running enough water pressure through the system (mostly air which compacts)

usually the fluctuating idle is caused by a leaking or misconnected vacuum/pressure lines...double check the lines to make sure they are connected to the right place and also look for cracks or loose fittings
