Default Need some help /w alarm install. Most of it done, just a few little things 2 work out

I recently bought a Lynx 2000 (it's the newest version of an aladdin 2000). I installed it myself. Got a few general questions and a few Lynx 2000 specifics... So far the alarm and most features work great. However, I have 2 problems right now that I dunno how to fix. I have a 93 Honda Civic CX.

#1 - General Question - I hooked up the door trigger and domelight output according to page 15 of the install manual with a relay just like that (1st diagram, - output). I split the green/red (it was more of a teal/red) and ran the wires off of that to the relay and then from the relay to the brain. I am pretty sure it's the right wire as I checked the door pin on the passenger side and the dome light and they were both that same color (teal/red) as well. However, the driver side door pin is a different color. My problem is the alarm doesn't sense the driver side door at all. It detects the opening/closing of the passenger side door and pages it 100% fine. What am I doing wrong? Anyone know how to wire up the relay correctly because the damn manual shows TWO different things for the - output... =(

#2 - Lynx 2000 Specific Question - I can't get the AUX 1 2 3 to show up. When I hold down the A button, it just makes a short beep sound with a changing pitch). I have 2 door poppers (shaved door handles) and I need another aux output (i'm using the trunk popper for the driver side door) to get the passenger side door open. But no matter how I hook up the relay it won't work. It used to work flawlessly on my Viper 500+. The doors use a + output.

#3 - Where is the best place to mount the dual stage shock sensor to get a good reading all over the car?

#4 - Specific Question - Can addition sensors be added onto this system? It doesn't seem like the wiring allows for any... I want to add a tilt sensor. Would I just splice off the shock sensor wires or are there wires for it? Also are there any accessories for this alarm? It seems very basic. I was hoping for more features...

THANKS in advance....

1.) that must mean you have the wrong door trigger hooked up. most of those cars have a green or green/red wire to get both doors. if it's only getting one door, then you have to find another wire that hooks up both doors. that wire is lurking underneathe your dash on the driver side near the fuse box.

2.) not sure how the lynx works exactly, but the aux functions could be a programming issue where you have the polarity of the relays reversed. either that, or the lynx might have some feature where you cannot use aux outputs unless all zone triggers are cleared. to check the source of the error first, grab a multimeter and see if there's an output coming out of each aux when you press it. if not, connect the coil part of the relay only (pin 85 +86), and assuming you have the right polarity, when you activate the aux, you should hear the relay click. if so, it works, otherwise check your polarity and hope it's not the brain...

3.) answer is: NONE!!!! there is absolutely no way to get the best of both worlds in this case. i typically install them underneath the steering column because it picks up a huge amount of vibration there. you can run two shock sensors, one per each side. you can also extend the wires, and place it in the middle of the car near your e-brake. i've had some luck with vipers doing this, but majority of the times the shock sensor either wolfs too much or doesn't trigger at all.

4.) yes, any sensor can be added, but has to be spliced like you mentioned. no harm done with doing that.

GOOD LUCK!!!

Ok, I checked my car for:

#1 - The domelight doesn't turn on at all when the driver door is open/closed/whatever... HOWEVER, the door pin still works. I know this because when I leave the keys in the car and open the driver door, it makes a beeping sound, and when I close the driver door, the beeping sound goes away... Also, the passenger side door turns on the domelight and turns it off as usual. Why doesn't the driver side door do this?

I also need to hook up a clutch bypass thing (my remote start is built for manual trannies) and I am still a little confused. The way I want to hook it up is so that I would still need to step on the clutch to start the car with a key as normal. However, I only want to bypass it when I do remote start. Here are the best instructions I have found so far, but I still dont' fully understand them...

"top of your clutch peddle... there will be two switchs. One switch signals when the clutch is started to be pushed in, the other will tell when the clutch is all the way down. Now your car won't start w/o the clutch all the way down.. so that's the switch you need. find the 12v line (it's 12V's IIRC)... it should be constant. Now put your meter on the other wire(s), and find the one that shows 12v's with the clutch pushed all the way down. That's the one you want. Either you can just jumper the switch completely, or do what i did. Connect one wire from the switch to pin 30 on a relay (bosch style). Connect the other side of the clutch switch to pin 87. Now connect pin 85 to a constant 12v wire (you can use the one on the clutch for this) and connect pin 86 to the status output on your remote start (the one that goes ground when the remote start is ativated). By doing it this way, it only bypasses the clutch when you remote start it and not when someone hops in and tries to start it."

So does that require cutting the wire that shows 12v when the clutch is pressed down and hooking each side to a pin on the relay or just tapping into it??? If those instructions up there are correct, I can just run a constant 12v wire from anywhere (this is easy to find) to pin 85 and the PURPLE wire from the 6-pin main wire from the brain which is the output for the starter motor to pin 86. I am just confused about pins 30 and 87 and where I am suppose to tap or cut the wires (which am I suppose to do?)...

Hopefully someone can help me out on these issues??

Default Clutch Bypass relay wiring info...

TroLL,
Did the remote starter work? The way I see it [Relay wiring]:

Pin85 to 12v constant power or you can use a jumper wire to tap it to Pin30
Pin86 to starter output,
Pin30 to the wire from clutch safety switch thats throws 12v when the clutch is pushed all the way.
Pin87 to the other wire coming from clutch safety switch

Thats exactly what I did when I installed my remote starter...

Is the Viper 791 designed for manual tranny? If it's not you'll end up to a lot of trouble... Gimme your car info.

Well, like I said if its not designed for manual trans the system has no special trick to detect that ur not geared. Otherwise you can still install it but too risky, Just make sure that you always leave the shifter in neutral or else if you accidentally press the "remote start" button when it is geared your car might hit sumtin.. enuff of that I'm sure U knew.. Aside from taking the "risk" do you know where to hook up the "starter output" wire? it should be above the kick panel not sure bout the color (mine's is Black/Red) You'll see the clutch relay with a couple of Blk/white.. Let me know if you have more Q? I'll ask around for more Info..
