#1 - General Question - I hooked up the door trigger and domelight output according to page 15 of the install manual with a relay just like that (1st diagram, - output). I split the green/red (it was more of a teal/red) and ran the wires off of that to the relay and then from the relay to the brain. I am pretty sure it's the right wire as I checked the door pin on the passenger side and the dome light and they were both that same color (teal/red) as well. However, the driver side door pin is a different color. My problem is the alarm doesn't sense the driver side door at all. It detects the opening/closing of the passenger side door and pages it 100% fine. What am I doing wrong? Anyone know how to wire up the relay correctly because the damn manual shows TWO different things for the - output... =(
#2 - Lynx 2000 Specific Question - I can't get the AUX 1 2 3 to show up. When I hold down the A button, it just makes a short beep sound with a changing pitch). I have 2 door poppers (shaved door handles) and I need another aux output (i'm using the trunk popper for the driver side door) to get the passenger side door open. But no matter how I hook up the relay it won't work. It used to work flawlessly on my Viper 500+. The doors use a + output.
#3 - Where is the best place to mount the dual stage shock sensor to get a good reading all over the car?
#4 - Specific Question - Can addition sensors be added onto this system? It doesn't seem like the wiring allows for any... I want to add a tilt sensor. Would I just splice off the shock sensor wires or are there wires for it? Also are there any accessories for this alarm? It seems very basic. I was hoping for more features...
THANKS in advance....
1.) that must mean you have the wrong door trigger hooked up. most of those cars have a green or green/red wire to get both doors. if it's only getting one door, then you have to find another wire that hooks up both doors. that wire is lurking underneathe your dash on the driver side near the fuse box.
2.) not sure how the lynx works exactly, but the aux functions could be a programming issue where you have the polarity of the relays reversed. either that, or the lynx might have some feature where you cannot use aux outputs unless all zone triggers are cleared. to check the source of the error first, grab a multimeter and see if there's an output coming out of each aux when you press it. if not, connect the coil part of the relay only (pin 85 +86), and assuming you have the right polarity, when you activate the aux, you should hear the relay click. if so, it works, otherwise check your polarity and hope it's not the brain...
3.) answer is: NONE!!!! there is absolutely no way to get the best of both worlds in this case. i typically install them underneath the steering column because it picks up a huge amount of vibration there. you can run two shock sensors, one per each side. you can also extend the wires, and place it in the middle of the car near your e-brake. i've had some luck with vipers doing this, but majority of the times the shock sensor either wolfs too much or doesn't trigger at all.
4.) yes, any sensor can be added, but has to be spliced like you mentioned. no harm done with doing that.
GOOD LUCK!!!
