im with Fuji, Pioneer and JVC's have kicked ass...... but Alpine's awesome too.

And for those of us who dont want to spend 3,000 on a HU, i think the 300 ones will suit just fine

$300 alpines are proly the same as $300 pioneers...brand preference is a hard habit to break. i dont have the experience or the exposure to back up my decisions, i like sound on a budget...

i have never had anything buts subs GTS on me though...you have really had HU's break?

The JVC and Pioneer incidents were'nt just your luck. I used to work for a Pioneer and JVC dealer and saw them go bad all the time.

Thats a great budget to get something hi end from Alpine. Im assuming you want a CD deck right? Look into the CDA 7893, CDA 7894, or CDA 7895 depending on your needs.

The 7895 required an external amp, the 7893 looks almost identical in the silver finish but isnt MP3 capable, the 7894 is MP3 capable. I just sold a CDA 7893 for $309. Not sure if we have any 7894s in, but we should.

I like the CDA 7894...

I dont like the green look for some reason, the blue and silver look nice together. Its similar to the old CDA 7965 right?

$300 alpines will never be the same as any pioneer or JVC. alpine decks last forever. pioneer and JVC do not. i've still got an alpine from '92 in my commuter car and it never skips or anything. in both incidences each deck died right after the warranty was up.. coincidence?

IMO Alpine kick ass. I own a 3 disc deck/changer and installed it in my dad's car and all I can says is "My dad loves it so much". I own a Clarion VRX815 and it plays good too. Some people says clarion suck but it gives me what I'm looking for a deck. Go with Alpine first. :boink:
