How deep??
I don't understand all the attacks from the civicland crowd..I should keep my mouth shut, but what the hell....
(removed to not stoop to others levels...)
Then you decided to try to put words in my mouth by saying the following
No where did I use the words structural integrity, nor did I make any reference to the strength of the door, but the door panel.... Nor did I say that cutting the rain guard would have this affect.
If you trim back enough metal to get the magnet to clear comfortably, you remove one section where the plastic area of the door panel comes in contact with the metal section of the door...this portion of the door panel is weak enough as is (plastic is not what I would call a suitable mounting material for drivers). Cutting away that metal will only reduce the support that the door provides for that weaker section of plastic....hence making the door panel weaker.....you said ti yourself...it's plastic...therefore it needs all the help it can get!!!!
Try reading the post again (and again if you have to) before you try to put words in my mouth. Continuing these childish attacks that only weaken your already flaky credibility....
I'm all for logical debates and discussions, but you are really taking this thread in another direction. One that is not tolerated around here...maybe this is how civicland.com works, but not this board.
I'm still waiting for some photos from you guys....

Well you know something, after looking at your picture that driver isn't going to fit in there.......I think I'm forgetting something here, wait a tick I am. Just like you forgot to cut the rest of the rain gaurd away. Know if you are going to show those pictures, that were quite nice by the way, make sure you have cut everything you should have. Just by looking at those pictures I can tell you why it doesn't fit. You didn't cut away the rest of the rain gaurd. You say that you've been installing for 8 years and you didn't see that? My guess is 8 months or 8 weeks but not years. Just because you have read about car audio and installs for 8 years doesn't mean you've been work with it for 8 years. I'm not doubt that you don't know what you are talking about when it comes to car audio product, but we all have seen that you lack a little when it comes to installing.
There is nothing with civicland "attaks." This started out as a nice post with me just trying to help you out. But that all changed the second that you said you can't do that, when in fact I had. I would think that kind of reply would come from just a member and not a Mod like yourself.
SiClone - I understand what you are saying, but why don't you tell your Mod not to tell someone they are and I quote "Flat out wrong" before he does a little research in the matter. Just because someone is new to the site doesn't mean they are an idiot and I hope this topic has shown that.

I just don't know how much more clear I can make it....it's not possible without cutting the metal on the door....if you trim that back, then yes you can get it in there. The hole in the door that the magnet must pass through is physically smaller then the magnet...
I do not need your help, nor did I ask for it. I feel that you are still inaccurate and wrong....until you prove otherwise, I will stand my ground.
I have all the research I need...the car and the driver in my garage.
As far as I can tell, you have done nothing but make mistakes on this post and you have not proved a damn thing.....still waiting on photos....

If you don't like it, then you are more than welcome to NOT visit this site... But like I said, everyone is welcome to their opinion on car audio related items and flaming will not be tolerated in this forum.:nono:
Si - I would just like to point out that this topic was fine until your mod start this. I made a post saying that it could be done and I've done it before and he comes back and says I'm flat out wrong. Any mod should not come at a member like that, even if they think that the member is wrong. I simple, really are you sure about that? Is a ton better then "You my friend are flat out wrong." First I had only made a hand full of posts here and he has no idea about my background in car audio. I hate to say it but the Mod of this board was in the wrong. Yes he may think that I'm wrong and he has tried something and couldn't get it to fit. But that doesn't mean all new members are full of it, witch he thought that I was. I would be more then happy to post up everything that I've been in car audio and all the trainings that I've ever been too. But I'm not going to because I don't feel that I need too. The only thing that I'm going to say is I've been through RTTI installer training and if you claim that you know car audio and have never heard of RTTI, you my friend only read magazines and have not worked for a shop before. I fully believe that I know more about car audio then him and could be a better mod. But I don't want to be a mod, I just want to come here and maybe help some members with questions I could answer.
Yeah maybe Toxis and myself went a little far with some posts. But not mod should start anything like that with members. Their jobs are to keep the peace and not start the wars. So need time before you say someone doesn't know what they are talking about ask them where they been and what training they have.
