Knowing Cerwin Vega, it will most likely be linear one way. I believe xmax is defined as linear one way excursion.

Why not just get a seperate battery to run the amp off?

Because......then that battery has to be tied into the vehicles charging system which will just add more drain to the system since the alternator now has two batteries to keep charged
