You may want to practice your reading comprehension...here's what I said:

most caps are just rebadged versions of the same thing
Did you see the word "most" -- nowhere did I say "all capacitors" -- those are your words, I would appreciate it if you did't try to put them in my mouth.

And what makes you think that the people at Pyramid are sitting around, designing and manufacturing their own capacitors? From a business perspective it's logical for those types of products to be outsourced rather then built in house.

One example of rebaged capacitors are the ones sold with the name Arc Audio printed on them....they are not built in Modesto, CA by Arc, in fact, they are manufactured by another company in Germany, then are rebadged to say "Arc Audio."

Have you noticed that many caps are exactly the same size, have the same spacing on their lugs, and if you removed the pretty colored heat shrunk label they would all look remarkably similar? It's probably not a conincidence.

I never said a capacitor didn't work, I feel it's a bandaid for the problem, not enough amperage for your system. I would rather put my money toward a fix rather then a bandaid....it's my opinion on what I would do...that's all.

If you want to do some reading on the subject to find out more info on caps, I suggest you go here:

This is an excellent (although long) thread about the merits of capacitors. Again, I'm not taking sides, but I don't feel that they are worth the money. Give it a read, it's a bit heavy technicaly, but is a good read none the less.
