Default Trying to match amp with sub - help please

What is a decent (and inexpensive) amp that would work well with a 10" JL W0 8 enclosed sub? The box is 3/4" particle board box and size is 12"x14" base - 12" high - slants to a 9.5"x14".

8 ohm -
125 watt RMS - 250 watt Peak

I know that the box should be made out of MDF, but my brother thinks he got a good deal on it and want to know what to push it with. Any suggestions? Is the box size correct?

Thanks.

Well since amps really arean't optimized for 8 ohm loads youll basically be wasting half the power the amp is capable of, however the amp will run cooler at 8 ohms than 4. Youll need an amp that is rated for around twice the power of the speaker because you are running it at 8 ohms (it was probably from a pair so they could be hooked up for 4 ohms). Id look at something in the 250 -300 at 4 ohm watt range and that should be fine. I had a single 8 ohm 10 running off 240 watt and did the job fine for me but im not a bass head. What price range of amp are you looking at?

How do you think a Rockford Fosgate 250a2 would work? What would be the correct way to wire it up?

Yeah the rockford should work fine. As far as wiring it, if its a single voice coil then you don't really have any options. Go from + bridged connection on the amp to the + on the sub. Same with the - terminals. It probably wont blow the doors off but should give decent bass.
