Wait, why you say that AFTER i bought my new 10w6v2 sub and 500/1 amp? What are some other recommendations? I've heard about Orion, but that's it. What else?

JL is a great brand, I don't think he was trying to say they were bad by any means, its just there are many good brands out there other than JL. Recommendations? Image Dynamics, Elemental Designs, Adire, Tru, Arc Audio, Vifa, Morel, Focal, Dynaudio, Scan Speak, Pheonix Gold, etc etc etc.

but you can pretty much make any dimensions you want (as long as the sub has enough mounting depth and width). TWO sides can be the same length if desired but all 3 can't.
If you're really really lucky (or unlucky) this might happen, but, even with a perfect cube box, the amplitude of the lower frequencies is so large that this really doesn't happen often at all. But yes, to be on the safe side, don't make a perfect cube.

And also, when calculating your box volume, don't forget to factor in wood thickness and sub displacement.

now children - play nice in the sandbox or else.....

TTT is correct, a perfect cube isn't that big of an issue when talking about sub bass.

you can also run a ported enclosure without a ssf if you want to. Just tune it low and use common sense...
