Default Anybody had this problem with their 03 accord?

My car acts like the brake rotors are warped when braking moderately from highway speeds. The judder pretty much goes away under 35, so it has me wonderin if it's something other than the rotors. Know how you can tell that abrupt stop when you have brake rotors just as you car coming to a complete stop?.... well mine isn't doing this and seem to be pretty consistent at lower speeds.

Anybody else have/fixed this problem?

hmm...well i could be wrong here BUT....

i too sorta expereience the same shit...like if yer going fast and u start to brake the whole brake pedal shakes and shit and it feel like u have no brakes left?

i belive its just the Anti-lock brakes actually...cause the way they are designed to stop the car is to continously "grip and release" so that this way yer wheels dont lock up.

Like sometimes if i just cover the brake pedal with my foot u can feel the anti-lock brakes working.

This is just a guess cause i too thought similar but i was like "shit i only got 2,000 miles on the car theres no way i ruined the brakes already?"

So there's yer answer bro....hopefully it is what im thinking.

Mine still brakes fine, so I think we have different problems. I'm familar with how antilock brakes act and this is different... like a warped rotor or loose suspension part.

That's not ABS.... ABS only engages in full pressure, foot to the floor all out braking or on slippery surfaces. Plus, you would hear the pump activate, as it is a very loud and low rumble. Trust me, you'll know when ABS activates. The warped feel seems to be a common problem on 7th gen Accords. I'd take it to the dealer and have the tech drive it with you. You're under warranty, take advantage of it.

rumor has it that they are going to recall some of the 03's because of the brakes warping...

My 7gen 4mt5 sedan has judder & I know two friends who have it too. My service advisor refuses to resurface the rotors because Honda admits to the problem but doesn't have a fix. I have copy of a letter from Honda Technical Services that says this. One friend insisted on resurfacing and it stopped the judder, but my advisor says that resurface is temporary fix and the judder will return. Says 3-400 have come back after resurface in his shop.

My guess is bad pad material leaving uneaven deposits on the rotor surface.

it sounds like the dealership is blowing you off. Don't let them do that to you. demand to have the rotors refinished for free. They should do it if the pads are over five millimeters. They should also replace the pads when they do it. I've done tons of warp rotors complaints under warr. Trust me they're blowing you off. Demand to speak with the service manager and if he is no help, demand the district zone manager for honda and call him. There is also an american honda cust. service number too you could call. I had to refinish a guys brakes and replace his pads under warr. last week and he had 35,784 miles on the speedo. Honda gave him a one time good will on his rotors and pads.

My car does it but the brakes are definetly not warped. Like said, it doesn't do it below 35MPH even when you slam on the brakes. What do you think?
