Default Let's see those 3G's...

OK, I normally spend my "forum time" on 3geez.com, but I figured all you 4+Genners would appreciate a little 3G show-off.

So anyone out there sportin' a 3G, let's see it!

Here's my contribution to this thread:

Thanks Vtec and V4.

Current mods:
Mechanical:
88-89 EFI Brake upgrade, flipped lid, Brembo front rotors, Axis pads, Techna-Fit SS lines, auto to 5 spd swap, Custom aluminum shiftrod bushings, Koni reds on all 4 corners, B&G springs.
Appearance: Modified Mazda MX6 lower front lip, painted grill, clear corners, clear bumper leses, custom reupholstered interior (not done yet), custom dash insert, black interior plastics from an '88, 15" PR wheels w/Nitto's, 17" Kaizer K2's w/Nankang's, 15" GSR fat-fives w/Kuhmo Victoracers (for auto-x).

Stuff at home waiting for me to install:
Dual Weber DCOE45's (pictured in sig. below), new engine with 9.5:1 compression, reworked head, Magnacore wires, new motor mounts, Ingalls camber kit in rear, front Prelude adjustable control arms, rear disc conversion w/Brembo rotors, custom 2.25" exhaust, "test" pipe (cat eliminator), Pacesetter headers.

future mods for her:
Finish up the interior in all tweed.
Those DCOE's will have the 36mm choke removed when the final engine is built. Specs on the final engine: 12.5-13:1 compression pistons, shot-peened rods, knife-edged & balanced crank, custom cam (not regrind), P&P head, oversized valves. Along with P&P intake manifold, re-jet the carbs, bigger an. fuel line, fuel pump & pressure regulator, custom air-box for ram air to carbs. Custom header. With all that, the shop who's doing the engine work is estimating ~300 wheel hp. (and that's with an N/A SOHC block.) (That same shop has done similar work before with this same block. It was their block of choice to build for their SCCA cars until a few years back.)

That's it for now. I've decided to give some attention to my other 3G for a little while. That's an '89 Coupe, but those specs and pics will be a while.

you have a pretty nice weight advantage if I am wrong. My friend with an 89 lude is unreasonably fast. I don't understand it. My mechanic with his 89 lxi accord has intake, exhaust, port and polish head, and injectors from a newer year accord and he is crazy fast. I can only catch up too him in my upper 3rd gear rpm range. Your accords are some sleepers. Keep up the good work and welcome to the board. Keep us updated.

True about them being sleepers (well, at least the 88-89 LX-i's). Major advantages that these cars have is, 1. fairly low weight, 2. they're really not that bad stock with crank 120hp. and 3. the only good thing about the A20A is that it's a 2.0 SOHC, which means gobs and gobs of torque. I love the torque to hp ratio. (Damn near 1:1).

Please do a big favor and tell you mechanic about www.3geez.com. It's a forum dedicated to 86-89 Accords.
