I MUST be tired,, Its friday night,, and aI cant even insult you gents correctly,, Im slipping LOL.. Next Question,,Elixroo7,, Do you guys purposely sleep deprive yourselves for weeks on end to dream up your log on names?? LOL Ok who really cares,,Your cold shifting problem,,Transmissions along with engines can be a bit funny sometimes,, Fluids change consistancy and clearances change with heat due to burning fossil fuels.. You might have a shift soleniod thats hanging up when cold, you might have a valve body that has a burr that prevents a certain shift valve to work as it should. All I can suggest is that you bring your car to a qualified Honda dealership and Hope someone there knows something about transmissions.. Pay the money, get your car fixed, life a full life and pray you dont have any children,, They just arnt worth it anymore,, NEXT!! Bonestock.. Thanks for the welcome,, Like I really needed it,,Honestly,, Thanks for the Pic of your car,, looks great,, personally, I would have added a half an inch to your lowering kit,, the look you have is great, but perfer the better ride,, nice wheels,, My favorite !! Big Spokes!! NEXT,, Fryed Up,, Clunk in reverse,, Kiss of death my friend,, I hear the fat lady singing as i type,, See your DEALER and hope for the best.. NEXT,,96 Green Civic,, Thanks for the welcome,,But couldnt you at least do the sleep deprivaion clinic like the rest of these guys and come up with an origional name?? Gezzzzzzzz If anyone needs to be slapped its you !! Disclaimer,, NEVER take anything I say sarcasticaly serious,, Im old,, Im tired, Im like your grandfather..when I die,, there will be NO One to care for your cars,,you think I cost too much,, just wait..!!

Default Lager - pls answer this one...

I've been reading your stuffs....interestingly funny, ya like a dad that boyz with toyz really need.

I have 2002 Accord 4 cyl., auto tran. with 41000 km on it.

recently my auto transmission shift handle vibrates, off and on,
randomly, even when I am in "N" gear, stop at the lights, and of course during driving. It's off and on not very strong, but annoying.

is there something wrong? thnx man.

Fryed Up.. Man,, so sorry it took me this long to reply,, Just been so darn busy,, I think my earlier comment " Kiss of death" was a bit too harsh,, just because, Ive experienced that " Clunk" and thought.. Oh My God,, The trans is will hit the ground !! But?? To tell you the truth,, I really havent seen anything bad happen cause of it,, Course all the ones I heard wrere under warranty and got replaced free of charge,, after talking to the engineers,, they told me that they didnt know what caused the clunk, and it disappeared aftre they replaced everything ??? Whats that for answer??? I only WISH for the day whan I have room full of these engineers that are handcuffed and I have a base ball bat!! Im so damm sick and tired of explaining to customers on how Hondas are a such a great product and their problem is the "only" one we ever saw.. But?? To tell you the truth.. Hondas arnt perfect,, but they are still the best Auto manufactor out there!! Whats that mean?? Dog poop smells right,, but compared to Skunk spray?? O2 Red-Vtec... LIke I need more kids!! Dont tell me you want me to fund your college education too??So your gear shifter vibrates and your complaining,If my wife saw that shifter vibrating??She would be a happy girl !!Think of is as a warm up?? Ok Ok.. Vibration transfered to your shifter is probably due your engine misfireing,, Why the "check engine" light didnt come on,, I have no clue,, when this happens,, hit your throttle and sees if the vibration changes or clears up..?? Thanks for your questions..

ok do i need to loosen up the cable where i can loosen it with a wrench? or do i need to loosen the part that has the ball on the end that slips into the metal peice that is attatched to the tranny that moves?
can you be more specific? it's kind of confusing

Hey lager. Kinda late but welcome. :wavey:

I just want to go through a quick little story for ya.

My family bought our 96 accord EX off the lot in 95 and in 2001 when the car would drive from 1st to 2nd it would make a clink noise as if you were driving a manual and missed a gear or something like that. We took it to a shop and they rebuilt it for us. Now JW should it of been rebuilt?

Sometimes now when we are driving at low speeds the car hesitates to shift and kinda acts as if we are holding the gears. Its kinda weird. Should we change the tranny fluid to check on it? I know we are not getting a new tranny because we would go with the H22 instead.

Also, from your point of view. Do you think a H22 with a Auto LSD would perform good or do you think I should just go with the Manual LSD?

FryedUp,, I hope so too,, last time I talked to the trans engineer on the telephone,, he told me it was none of my business what caused the CLUNK.. which tells me,, he didnt know either and that he just replaced everything.. Now you see what I have to deal with every day?? Wheres my base ball bat?? LOL..My stories could go on and on,, but im not gonna.. NEXT.. AD..Once again.. I want you to loosen your trans cable ( Throttle) yeah its gonna take a wrench,, 2 in fact 12 mm in size, down at the end farther away from the throttle body.. I want you to take the top nut on that cable and run it up the cable at least a 1/4 inch.. start car,, open hood,, work the throttle with your hand while looking at the transmission cable you just loosened,, make sure the little lever the cable is attached to moves at EXACTLY at the same time the motor revs up.. If your cable is slack,, it will require running the top nut down until the trans lever moves at the same time as your engine reves up.. It can be tricky to get to the right point,, when you get to that point,, tighten the bottom 12 mm nut, then see how your trans shifts..tightening that cable hardens the shift,,,loosening the cable, softenes the shift.. You are right,, it can be confuseing,, I hope this helps,, let me know how it works out..If you still cant understand what Im trying to tell you ,,, put
the wrenches down and back away slowly and buy a new car, Dont have children !!
