Turbocharger Rumor ?
I just wanted to know that if I were to put a turbocharger in my car and wanted to at least get 20PSI out of my engine what would I need to do to it and how much it would cost...
Also wanted to know there is a rumor about turbochargers and that you have to let your car warm up before you are able to drive it without hurting the turbo...is this true because if so I am not going to get one.
Thanks,
Matt

i would do a lot of reading on turbos before putting money down. to do 20 psi you will need to get pistons, rods, sleeves, might as well do ehadwork to make it worth while as well, then add the upgraded clutch, as well as fuel system upgrades (pump, injectors, regulator), then some sort of fuel and ignition management.....and that is all before putting the turbo on the car, then you add the cost fo a turbo, a manifold, a down pipe, intercooler, intercooler piping, wastegate, blow off valve, and new exhaust....to do it right it should cost at least $6000 if not a lot more...

warming up a car is good for the engine and tranny either way and should be done everyday (even in warmer months) so adding a turbo and having it warm up like the rest of your car isnt a big deal

you sound like you don't have much of clue of what needs to be done, cost, and how much boost 20psi really is.
20 PSI is a lot of boost. are u planning on boosting your F22? tuning is key so even if u have all the extra goodies like lower compression pistons, headwork, fuel pump, stand alone engine management, and etc. its pretty much worthless w/o proper tuning to get everything to work right.
20psi!! Damm, that is a lot of boost. The new Evo is pushing 18psi and I thought that was a ton. I believe the WRX is around 14psi. If you were to go turbo, most accord guys I've talked to usually stay around 6-10psi(10 for being at the track) If you could do 20psi, that would be impressive.
